Nail biter at Milden!

The casuals took on Milden CC in their first away fixture of the season.  Most players struggled with the traffic and finding the pitch! Hayns lost the toss and was asked to bat – a good job as we only had six players to start the game. Daryl and Archie opened the batting and put on 94 for the first wicket, before Daryl was caught behind for 51 ( a great catch by the keeper).  Archie scored a good seventy and was retired . Liam Jones continued to impress with 26, Will Bosworth hit a couple of nice boundaries before departing for nine .  Keith Scott made his debut (Ewan’s dad) and was 8 not out at the end.  Earls Colne 183 for 4.

Hayns opened with Lee Parish and our young leg spinner Liam, Milden’s openers were dismissed cheaply by Lee and Liam.  Will Bosworth came on to bowl and impressed taking 3 wickets young Ewan Scott took the wicket of the day by bowling the chairman of the Piri Piri league Hayns then bowled himself and clean bowled Hobbs for nought. Daryl claimed a wicket then a last pair partnership of Dackers and Wymark put on 68 for the last wicket before Hayns had Wymark caught by Will Bosworth and Earls Colne won by 14 runs.
